Hi, my names is James Smallidge. For 27 years I served our county in the Army both as an enlisted member (5 years) and as an officer (22 years). My career has taken me to 7 countries, 6 different states and 3 combat tours (Grenada, Persian Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom). I have almost traveled around the world, just missing the piece between Iraq and Korea, and I have crossed the equator. In 2008, I retired in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. My first job as a civilian was teaching Army Senior ROTC at the University of Tampa. This was a great opportunity for me to transfer my knowledge to future leaders of our military. In 2010, I took a job teaching Junior ROTC at a local high school believing I could accomplish the same goal. After a year and a half I realized why high school is so hard to teach. It was during Christmas break, I realized there was something I always wanted to do, but just never followed up on, Real Estate. In college, I remember reading a number 1 best seller "The Art of the Deal" by Donald Trump. I read a few more books over the break by leaders in today's Real Estate market, Gary Keller was the most influential, and decided that I would make Real Estate my next career. In 2013, I became a full-time Realtor(R) with Keller-Williams Realty.
